2014: Bright object videoed hovering above Phoenix, Arizona
On November 7, 2014, a witness at Granada Park in Phoenix, Arizona, recorded cellphone video of a bright disc-shaped object hovering over Piestewa Peak (formerly Squaw Peak) around sunset. The object was visible for approximately 25 minutes, changed color and shape during the observation, descended toward the ground, rose again, and at one point flew over the witness silently. Multiple helicopters were present in the area throughout the sighting. The video was uploaded to YouTube by the channel BellaBunnyTV. No investigation has been conducted.
⚠ YOUTUBE-SOURCED VIDEO — NO INVESTIGATION ⚠
This case is based entirely on a YouTube upload. The witness is anonymous (known only by a channel name). No investigating organization has examined the video, the phone, or the metadata. YouTube-sourced UFO videos are inherently difficult to evaluate without original file access and independent analysis.

Duration: Approximately 25 minutes
No. of Object(s): 1
Description of the Object(s): A bright circular disc-shaped object, light grey in color with lights that glowed in what the witness described as “a strange way.” The object hovered over Piestewa Peak for several minutes, then changed color and shape, descended toward the ground between the peak and nearby houses, rose again, and at one point flew over the witness’s position. No sound was audible during the overflight
Shape of Object(s): Circular disc
Size of Object(s): Not estimated
Color of Object(s): Light grey with bright glowing lights
Distance to Object(s): Not estimated; appeared to be over Piestewa Peak from the witness’s position at Granada Park
Height & Speed: Hovering; descended to near ground level at one point; flew over the witness silently
Number of Witnesses: 1 (witness plus their daughter, who was playing and not observing)
Special Features/Characteristics: Multiple helicopters were present in the sky above the area throughout the sighting. The object changed color and shape during the observation. It descended toward the ground between Piestewa Peak and nearby houses, then rose again. When the witness later drove away from the park, the object flew over their car silently. Three separate video clips were captured on a cellphone and combined into one YouTube upload. The video was filmed sideways and the witness noted camera shake from trying to watch their daughter while filming

Detailed Report
The witness, known only by their YouTube channel name BellaBunnyTV, went to Granada Park in central Phoenix with their daughter around sunset on Friday, November 7, 2014. Upon arrival, they heard multiple helicopters in the sky. Looking up, they saw the helicopters but also noticed a bright circular disc-shaped object hovering over Piestewa Peak (the witness used the mountain’s former name, Squaw Peak), directly in front of their position at the park.
The object hovered over the peak for several minutes, then began changing color and shape. It descended toward the ground, appearing to land somewhere between Piestewa Peak and the houses in front of the witness’s position. The witness stopped recording and walked toward their car intending to drive to the apparent landing site. When they turned back, the object was airborne again. This second phase, filmed in darker conditions, constitutes the later portion of the combined video.
The witness described the object as light grey with bright lights that glowed in an unusual manner. It made no sound — the witness confirmed this when, while driving away from the park, the object flew directly over their car without producing any audible noise. Total observation time was approximately 25 minutes. Three separate cellphone video clips were recorded and combined into one YouTube upload.
Researcher’s Notes
The Granada Park Video — Phoenix 2014 and YouTube as Source
- Hynek Reclassification: The original page classified this as CE-I, which requires observation within 500 feet. The witness provides no distance estimate and the object appeared to be over Piestewa Peak — approximately 2 miles from Granada Park. NL (Nocturnal Light) is the appropriate classification for a dusk-to-dark observation at indeterminate distance. The witness’s claim that the object later flew over their car silently could arguably support CE-I for that specific moment, but without distance or altitude data for the overflight, the archive defaults to NL.
- The YouTube Source Problem: YouTube-sourced UFO videos present inherent verification challenges. The witness is anonymous (channel name only). The original video file with its metadata (date stamps, GPS tags, device information) is not accessible through YouTube, which strips and recompresses uploaded footage. No investigating organization has examined the phone, the original files, or the witness. The video description includes promotional language (“Please LIKE and SHARE”) characteristic of content-driven YouTube channels. None of this proves fabrication, but it means the video cannot be authenticated to the standard the archive prefers.
- The Helicopter Presence: The witness notes multiple helicopters were present when they arrived. Piestewa Peak is a popular hiking destination in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, and helicopter rescue operations for hikers are routine — the same pattern noted in the 2003 Phoenix cigar-shaped object report. However, “multiple helicopters” during a UFO sighting echoes a recurring pattern in Arizona cases (the 1977 Tucson Stovall-Buckner capsule, the Phoenix Lights). Whether the helicopters were routine rescue operations, coincidental traffic, or responsive to the object cannot be determined from the video or the witness statement.
- Assessment: An anonymous YouTube video of a bright object over a Phoenix mountain at sunset, with no investigation, no witness identification, and no original-file verification. The archive retains it as a dated, located video case and notes its limits.
A parent filming at a park while watching their kid play — a moment as ordinary as it gets — and something bright hung over the mountain that wasn’t supposed to be there. The video is on YouTube, the archive holds the record, and the helicopters were already in the sky.
