The account comes down through Ole Jonny Braene’s compilation of pre-1947 Norwegian UFO-type incidents, one of relatively few dedicated efforts to catalog Scandinavian cases from this era. The witness reported watching a dark, bell-shaped object descend from the sky and settle out of direct view, behind a rise in the terrain near Sulitjelma — at the time a small but active mining community in Norway’s north.
Two humanoid figures then came into view from behind the hill, walking toward the witness. Both were notably short in stature, with skin described as gray, hair long, dark, and wavy, and heads disproportionately large relative to their bodies — a combination of traits that reads, to a modern audience, as strikingly close to the “gray alien” archetype that would not become a fixed feature of popular UFO culture until decades later, following cases like Betty and Barney Hill’s 1961 account and the wave of abduction narratives that followed it.
