THINK ABOUTIT ENTITY ENCOUNTER REPORT

1952: Remedios, Cuba — The Winged Humanoid of the Dolores Farm

Working the Dolores farm outside Remedios, Cuba, Caridad Martinez looked up to see something drop out of the afternoon sky and land nearby — a seven-foot, yellow-skinned figure with a silvery plate across its stomach and a huge pair of wings folded down to its waist, speaking to her in a language she couldn’t follow except for one word: “Tierra.” Earth.

It’s one of the more visually distinct entries in this archive’s global 1952 record — a winged humanoid decades ahead of the American “Mothman” reports that would later make the archetype famous, holding a luminous object that released a gas strong enough to leave Martinez dizzy and half-conscious before it rose back into the sky on its own wings and vanished. The account survives through Cuban researcher Orestes Girbau Collado, whose collected humanoid cases have since been translated and republished across the Spanish- and English-language UFO literature.

Date: September 14, 1952

Urban or Rural: Rural

No. of Entity(‘s): 1

Entity Type: Winged humanoid

Entity Description: Over 7 feet tall, with yellowish skin and a round face; a silvery, disc-shaped plate attached to the stomach area; a large pair of wings attached at the shoulders, hanging down to the waist and used to fly both down to and back up from the ground

Hynek Classification: CE-III (Close Encounter of the Third Kind) — close observation with an animate being; this entry carries no separately observed craft, only the entity’s own flight

Duration: Not recorded

No. of Object(s): Not Applicable — no separate craft was described; the entity itself descended and departed under its own power via its wings

Size of Object(s): Not Applicable

Distance to Object(s): Not recorded; the entity approached closely enough to speak directly to Martinez and hand her, or hold near her, the luminous gas-emitting object

Shape of Object(s): Not Applicable

Color of Object(s): Not Applicable

Number of Witnesses: 1 (Caridad Martinez)

Special Features/Characteristics: The entity spoke to Martinez in an unrecognized language; the only word she could identify was “Tierra” (Spanish for Earth). It carried a luminous object in both hands that emitted a gaseous substance, which made Martinez dizzy and nearly unconscious. It departed the same way it arrived, rising back into the sky using its own wings.

Case Status: Insufficient Data — a single witness account, preserved through Cuban researcher Orestes Girbau Collado and subsequently translated and republished across several UFO catalogs; no contemporary 1952 press coverage or independent corroboration has been located

Source: Orestes Girbau Collado, Cuba (translation by Albert S. Rosales)

Summary/Description: On the afternoon of September 14, 1952, Caridad Martinez, a worker at the “Dolores” farm near Remedios in Cuba’s Santa Clara province, saw a winged humanoid figure descend from the sky and land on a nearby plot of land. The being, over 7 feet tall with yellowish skin, a round face, and a silvery plate across its stomach, approached and spoke to her in an unrecognized language, the only distinguishable word being “Tierra” (Earth). It held a luminous object in both hands that released a strange gas, leaving Martinez dizzy and nearly unconscious. Its wings, which hung down to its waist, carried it back up into the sky, and it disappeared from view.

Detailed Report

The Remedios case reaches this archive through Orestes Girbau Collado, a Cuban researcher whose collected humanoid encounter reports have since been cited and translated within the broader Hispanic ufology literature, including work later associated with the Institute of Hispanic Ufology and its journal Inexplicata. That gives the source some standing within the field as a genuine collector of testimony rather than an anonymous or unverifiable compiler — but it does not, on its own, constitute independent corroboration of any individual case he collected, including this one.

What Martinez described is distinctive within this archive’s broader 1952 record specifically because of the wings: most contemporaneous humanoid reports from the same global flap describe craft-associated beings, whereas this entity is described as flying under its own power, with no separate vehicle mentioned at all. The silvery stomach plate is the only piece of equipment-like detail attached to the figure, and it’s left undescribed beyond its material and placement.

The luminous, gas-emitting object held in the entity’s hands, and the dizziness and near-unconsciousness it caused Martinez, is a physically specific claim — the kind of detail that, if independently corroborated by a medical examination or a second witness, would carry real evidentiary weight. No such corroboration survives in the sourcing available to this archive; the case rests entirely on Martinez’s own account as relayed to Girbau.

RESEARCHER’S NOTES

Remedios, Cuba — 1952 and an Early Winged-Humanoid Report

An early example of the winged-humanoid archetype: This case predates the American “Mothman” reports of the 1960s by well over a decade, and is worth noting as an early data point for researchers interested in how that broader entity archetype has appeared across different decades and regions, without this archive claiming any direct connection between the two.
A credentialed collector, an uncorroborated individual case: Orestes Girbau Collado’s standing as a serious collector of Cuban humanoid testimony lends the source itself some credibility, but that credibility applies to his work as a researcher, not to independent verification of Martinez’s specific account.
No separate craft, unlike most of this archive’s 1952 entity cases: The entity’s self-powered flight, with no accompanying vehicle described at all, sets this case apart structurally from the disc-and-occupant pattern common elsewhere in the 1952 record.
A physically specific but uncorroborated symptom claim: Martinez’s reported dizziness and near-unconsciousness from the gas is a concrete, checkable-in-principle detail, but no medical record, second witness, or contemporary account survives to test it against.

More than seventy years later, what’s preserved of that afternoon on the Dolores farm is one woman’s account of a single unfamiliar word, spoken by something that flew in on its own wings and flew back out the same way — and a researcher’s collected testimony that has never been independently checked against anything beyond itself.
