Six representative entity encounters from the undated 1950 UFO reports archived on this page.
1950: Unknown Date
UFO|UAP & Entity Sightings Archive
Not every case from 1950 comes with even a month attached. This page gathers reports whose sources give only the bare year — and it is, overwhelmingly, an entity page: dwarf-like figures collecting rocks in Brazil, a deaf-mute Colombian boy’s detailed telepathic exchange beside a carved, symbol-covered rock, a Norwegian girl’s polite refusal of an invitation to leave with three small humanoids, and a Jacksonville, Florida abduction memory recovered only fifty years later under hypnosis. Alongside the close encounters sit a scattering of cryptid reports — a boar-bodied creature in a California mine shaft, a giant bird killing cattle in Honduras, a satyr-like dancing figure near Athens — that this archive keeps in the main record rather than segregating elsewhere, consistent with how “weird” content of every kind is handled across this site.

Date: 1950
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Time: Early morning
Summary: Mrs. Kathleen Compardo woke early to prepare breakfast for her husband, then went back to bed for additional sleep. Moments later she woke again to see two roughly 90-cm-tall transparent figures standing next to her bed. In child-like voices, the beings communicated with her by telepathy, telling her among other things that they were very advanced and possessed a device that could cure cancer, as well as laser-beam-like weapons of mass destruction. They said they wished to help humanity, but that humans were too aggressive, and that they had to leave since they could not stay in “our atmosphere” too long.

Date: 1950
Location: Sonoma County, California
Time: Afternoon
Summary: Two men and a 17-year-old boy, exploring old mine shafts, began hearing clicking noises and smelling smoke, and went deeper to investigate. They saw an unusual substance coating the mine walls, then a fire farther down with something near it. On closer inspection, they found a hideous creature resembling a boar with human features — hands, patches of red hair, bashing an animal skull against a rock to crack it open. The creature charged when it saw them; one witness suffered a deep gash on his back escaping the shaft.

Date: 1950
Location: San Bernardino, California
Time: Unknown
Summary: No time, summary, or source survives for this entry in the original record — only an associated illustration, whose caption describes it as a recreation of a 1950 sighting in San Bernardino, “one of many reported during the high-activity period of March 21st-31st.” This suggests the case may actually belong with the already-documented late-March 1950 California wave rather than standing as an independent, separately dated report; preserved here as originally filed pending further research.

Summary: Thirteen-year-old deaf-mute William Ortiz was riding his horse on a gravel road on his parents’ property when, through the vegetation beside the road, he glimpsed a child-like figure and continued on. Through an opening in the brush, atop a large rock, he then saw a disc-shaped object with small figures around it. Confused, he looked over his shoulder and found one of the child-like figures beside him, wearing a tight-fitting, turtleneck-collared uniform with visible seams and boots, four-fingered hands, a large hairless head, big black oval eyes (some crew members’ eyes were smaller than others), no visible ears — just small holes on each side of the head — a small nose, and unmoving lips, with grayish-brown skin. The being closest to him appeared male and looked directly into his eyes, communicating eight words by a mix of telepathic message and hand signals, including “sky,” “love,” and “secret.” The entity then turned back toward the rock and Ortiz lost sight of the rest of the crew; it returned to the object half walking, half floating, very fast, and the craft rose straight up, turned southwest, and vanished over the horizon. The rock the object had rested on bore numerous carved symbols — lines, circles, disk shapes, serpents, and others.

Summary: Two elderly sisters began telling family and close associates that they were experiencing difficult times due to interference from “Martians” or extraterrestrials — a term rarely used in Spain at the time — who were said to be watching them and periodically “experimenting” on them. The beings allegedly entered their home through closed doors and walls and would sometimes place strange apparatuses around their heads, causing extreme pain; at night the sisters reported hearing footsteps and other noises from the intruders. No detailed description of the beings survives beyond that they were apparently man-like. The sisters reported the intrusions to local police, who did not pursue the matter. The intrusions reportedly continued, especially involving a “machine” that emitted beams or rays, which the sisters believed contributed to their declining health. One sister died some years later of lung cancer; the other never reported further intrusions afterward.

Summary: The witness, a seven-year-old girl at the time, had stayed out late fishing at a local pond when she saw a large, oval-shaped object quickly approaching. It flew over her and disappeared into a forested glade; moments later, three short, human-like figures approached her — about her own height, round-eyed, with a “very visible” nose, wearing tight-fitting flying suits. She felt no fear. Using telepathy, one of the beings told her they wanted to examine her mouth and teeth, and then invited her to leave with them; she thought of her mother and declined. The humanoids bade her farewell, promising to return one day, and walked back into the glade before the craft climbed away and vanished.

Summary: Witness R. Chapman saw a dark, flatiron-shaped object hovering close to the ground. A “majestic” being then appeared out of nowhere — tall, well-built, with black hair and a beard, dark eyes, and very pale skin. Telepathic contact occurred between Chapman and the humanoid for several minutes; the being then turned and glided back toward the object, apparently decreasing in size as it went, and the craft departed leaving a vapor trail. The witness reportedly encountered the same being again at the same location on a separate occasion, with no further detail recorded.

Date: 1950
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Time: 21:00
Summary: The main witness and a companion were cutting through a neighborhood park on the way home. Looking up at a clear, starry sky, one remarked on how many stars were out, then noticed something strange: almost directly overhead was a perfectly round patch of sky with no stars at all — no clouds, nothing, just perfect blackness. Her companion dismissed it and suggested they sit on a bench to talk. From the bench, the companion pointed to a spot about half a block away where a small, silver-gray craft, smaller than a school bus, had quietly appeared — a broad, shallow dome on top, no discernible windows or lights. As they watched, something moved on the craft’s left side, resolving into an “awning” slowly lifting open. The two began backing toward their apartment building; three gray-skinned beings in jumpsuits entered as soon as they were inside, one stationed at each doorway and a third entering the living room, walking past the main witness to face her companion directly. The being was short, bald, with a flat-featured face, and appeared to wear dark glasses with no visible stems. It communicated telepathically, telling her: “We did not come for you this time. You were able to see us because of the attachments. You will not remember this” — repeating the statement. The witness only recalled the episode fifty years later, under hypnosis.

Summary: Marc Demarest, driving without headlights by the light of a full moon, came over a hill and saw an elliptical object roughly 500 feet off the road, hovering about 75 feet above the ground. He stopped and got out to watch. Lights shone from a row of windows encircling the object “like portholes around the body of the craft,” with blue exhaust flames coming straight down from it; there was no engine noise, only a quiet hum. He could see shadows of figures moving past the windows but was too far away to make out their form. He watched for 45 minutes; the moment he flicked his cigarette lighter, the object streaked off and disappeared within ten seconds. Demarest reported numerous subsequent sightings, though none as close or detailed.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
A Year’s Worth of Entity Encounters, Undated
This page differs from the site’s month-level “Unknown Date” logs in kind, not just in scope: rather than a handful of stragglers from a single busy month, it collects an entire year’s worth of reports whose sources never narrowed the date beyond “1950” at all — and the result is overwhelmingly a catalogue of close encounters rather than distant lights, spanning Brazil, Norway, Colombia, Tanzania, Russia, England, and a dozen other countries. Several entries stand out for their level of detail despite the missing date: William Ortiz’s telepathic exchange beside a symbol-carved rock in Colombia, Marc Demarest’s forty-five-minute observation of a windowed, hovering craft in Colorado, and the Jacksonville, Florida case, whose memory surfaced only after fifty years and hypnotic regression — a detail this archive flags as a genuine limitation on the account’s evidentiary weight, not a reason to omit it. Two entries (San Bernardino, California and Majorca, Spain) survive only as bare placeholders with no recoverable summary or source, preserved honestly rather than deleted, consistent with this archive’s standing practice.
“We did not come for you, this time. You were able to see us because of the attachments. You will not remember this.”
