Location: Paris, Tennessee

Urban or Rural: –It was a flat, isolated stretch of rural Tennessee highway. The area was primary soybean and cotton fields. There were no other cars in either direction.

Hynek Classification: CE-I (Close Encounter I) Observation of an object in close proximity to the witness (i.e. within 500’)

Height & Speed: I estimate that the object was 150-200 feet in the air directly above me.

Size of Object(s): If I framed the object between my left and right hands, my hands would be about 3 feet apart.

Distance to Object(s): 150-200 feet

Shape of Object(s): Disc

Color of Object(s): The object was round, silverish, and had slowly blinking green/blue lights around the perimeter. The bottom was relatively flat. the top sloped up to a “dome-like cockpit” with windows. The object made a whirring noise similar to a quieter turbine engine.

Summary/Description: The witness was driving back to college with his roommate. Theirs was the only car on a long stretch of rural highway between Paris and McKenzie, Tennessee. Suddenly, they saw streaks of light coming from the top of their windshield; they stopped the car on the road and got out. Directly above their car was a round disc-like object with windows. It had a raised dome “cockpit” in the center of the top half. It was hovering and spinning effortlessly about 200 feet directly above them.

We were the only car on a long stretch of rural highway between Paris and McKenzie, Tennessee. It was a Sunday night and my roommate and I were returning to college. We were talking and listening to the radio. Suddenly, we saw streaks of light coming from the top of our windshield. There was no noise. From inside the car, we could not see the source of the light.

There were no other cars coming in either direction. We stopped the car on the road and got out. Directly above our car was a round disc-like object with windows. It had a raised dome “cockpit” in the center of the top half. It was hovering and spinning effortlessly about 200 feet directly above us. It made a quiet whirring noise. The sparks of light had stopped. There were lights flashing on and off around the edges of the object.

We watched for approximately two minutes as the object stayed right above us and our car. Suddenly, the object went from standing still to a startling speed in 1 or 2 seconds. It was several miles away and made a 90 degree turn to the east without ANY loss of speed. My roommate and I got back in our car to finish our journey to school. We were speechless for about 10 minutes. That night on the 10 o’clock news, it was reported that there were identical sightings of the same object in six different states.
